I have been a researcher in the cognitive and computer sciences for 25 years, studying and building computer models of human language processing and cognitive architecture. Along with my duties at KidAccess, I am also an Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and the mom of one visual thinker and one neuro-typical child.

Andre and other young, local, computer graphic artists & students act as consultants to KidAccess. Our artists are told that the 3 most important characteristics of eye-cons are: realism, realism, and realism. Then comes color & visual appeal. Oh, yeah, and don't forget the realism.

We rely on your feedback to tell us what directions to grow in. Custom orders tell us what visuals you're interested in while suggestions sent to us via email tell us how you use visuals with your child (and may even influence future product designs). So please don't keep your comments to yourself; you know what works for your child, and as an expert, you never know when your ideas (along with our products) will make the difference in the life of somebody else's child as well.
